Laura is a practicing sexual assault nurse examiner in Philadelphia and postdoctoral fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sinko is also the Director of Research and Evaluation at Our Wave, a non-profit organization focused on helping survivors of sexual violence anonymously express themselves and find community online. Her research focuses on promoting gender-based violence recovery across the lifespan, particularly understanding socio-structural influences of these processes. Laura is interested in leveraging creative research methodologies to bridge the gap between survivor lived experience, the scientific and clinical community, and policy makers.
