This exhibit shares the stories of 40 LGBTQ+ survivors of gender-based violence living on the east coast of the United States who participated in a research study to share what healing looks like and feels like for them. Through interviews, creative activities, and photography, survivors depicted their experiences, emotions, and healing journeys.
Survivors had the option to participate in two in-person interviews, one focused on their healing retrospectively and the other using photography to explore their current healing needs and goals going forward. Participants were compensated for their time and energy and gave us permission to share their stories with you today.
